HAMAD IN SIGHT OF USA RACE
BAHRAIN’S Hamad Al Fardan has been offered a race seat in the prestigious Firestone Indy Lights championship, which is the official feeder category of the hugely popular IndyCar Series in the US, writes PATRICK SALOMON.
Hamad must now find sufficient backing to help him secure the drive, which will include 13 races in the 2010 season, some of which will take place in the streets of Long Beach in California and Toronto in Canada, and at historic venues such as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana, to name a few.
All races will be held in conjunction with IndyCar. The proposal comes as a lifeline to the stalled career of the Arab world’s leading motor racing driver.
“Indy Lights is a very competitive championship and it will be a great experience as I continue to strive for my dream of one day racing inFormula One,” Hamad told the GDN
